Obituary of Ernest Gerald Nadler
ERNEST "JERRY" NADLER
Ernest "Jerry" Nadler age 81 of Woodrow Court in Troy, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Samaritan Hospital, one day before his 82nd birthday. Born in NYC, Jerry resided most of his life in Troy. He was an Army Veteran and served during WW II from 1946 to 1948. He later spent 18 months in Japan as a military policeman. From 1950 TO 1953 he served in the Air Force as a radar mechanic in Korea. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart. Mr. Nadler had been employed for 29 years as a chemical operator as the Sterling Winthrop Company in Rensselaer retiring in 1991. He was a member of Temple Beth El in Troy. He was also an avid New York Yankee fan.
Jerry was married to Selene Wilcove Nadler for 51 years until her passing in 2009. Loving father of Richard H. Nadler and his wife Christine of Colonie, Mitchell Nadler of Cohoes, Joel I. Nadler of Deland, Florida and Bonnie L. Tilley and her husband, Rick of Troy, NY. Brother of Lawrence Nadler of Florida. Adored "Pop" and "Grandpa "to Claire S. and Kyle J. Nadler, Seth Nadler, Erica L. Nadler and Candace V. Nadler, Aaron E. Tilley and Rebecca B. Tilley. Great grandpa of Shea Marie Nadler He also leaves his canine companions, Rocks, Tank, Ricky and Rambo and his adored rabbit, Shadow. Jerry was predeceased by his sisters, Wendy Nadler and Elaine Reiner as well as his brother, Sanford Nadler.
Services will be held at the Beth El Cemetery on Belle Avenue in Troy, NY on Friday January 6, 2012 at 9:00am. Friends and relatives are invited to the Shaker Ridge Country Club in Colonie for a reception immediately following the service.
