Morris Herman, age 92 of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany died on Saturday morning February 7, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Mr. Herman was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts and was an Army Veteran serving during World War II in the 5th armored division. Mr. Herman had been employed as an IRS agent in the Boston area retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Freidman- Kaitz Jewish War Veterans Post in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Morris was predeceased by his wife Shirley Fisher Herman. Father of Diane Boss and her husband Harold of Albany, NY and Eric Steinberg and his wife Sue of Stoughton, Massachusetts. Brother of Bertha Herman of Guilderland, NY He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Morris was predeceased by 6 siblings.
Services were held on Sunday February 8, 2009 at the Beth Israel Memorial Park in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Morris's family would like to extend their sincere appreciate and gratitude to the staff of the Memory Enhancement Unit of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center for the extraordinary care and compassion show to Morris during his four year stay. A special thank you to the receptionist, Mary at the nursing center for her kindnesses. We also wish to thank the staffing of the fourth and sixth floors at St. Peter's Hospital. Last but not least, thank you to Mark W. Levine of the Levine Memorial Chapel for his professionalism and expertise in the manner in which funeral arrangements were conducted.
