Obituary of Frances Rosen

Frances Rosen, 87, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 21, 2009 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Facility after a lengthy illness. Frances was born on September 22, 1921 in Far Rockaway, New York, the daughter of the late Ida and Harry Schoen. She was the widow of Merton Rosen who predeceased her in 1982, and the sister of the late Victor Schoen and Edith Gordon. Frances is survived by her children, Iris (James) Israel of Latham, New York and Michael (Justine) Rosen of Toronto, Canada. She is also survived by grandchildren Janna Israel, Karen (Benjamin) Acrish, Matthew (Alana) Rosen, Noah Rosen, and one great grandchild. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Daughters of Sarah Gold Unit, and the nurses and staff of the Community Hospice for the excellent care, devotion and love they showed Frances during her illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Daughters of Sarah 180 Washington Avenue Extension, Albany at 11:00 am. The period of mourning will be observed Saturday evening January 24, 2009 through Wednesday evening January 28, 2009 at the Israel home. Charitable contributions may be made to the Daughters of Sarah, Community Hospice, or Congregation Agudat Achim.
