Mrs. Linda Mahaney Margolius, 56, wife of Dr. Michael Louis Margolius and a resident of Onancock, VA for eight and a half years, formerly of Dunkirk, NY, passed away at her residence on Friday, January 2, 2009.
Linda received her BA and MS degrees from Fredonia State University. She was an elementary school teacher for thirty-three years, twenty-eight in the Dunkirk Public School System in New York, and five at the Pungoteague Elementary School on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. She was a member of ADK, an honorary teacher's sorority, and active in Relay for Life. Linda loved knitting, reading and traveling.
Other than her husband, survivors include two daughters, Stacey VanBelleghem and husband Luke of Washington, DC, and Kelly Lutz and husband Mark of Fredonia, NY; three sisters, Pam Kanthor, Marti Rhyne and Alice Salita; and four grandchildren, Danielle, Timothy, Chad and Alexandra Mason. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Mahaney.
A memorial service will be held at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM. A local service will be held at the Levine Memorial Chapel 649 Washington Avenue Albany, NY on Tuesday January 6, 2009 at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, NY
