Obituary of Mildred Levin

LEVIN Albany, NY Mildred Levin was born in Keene, New Hampshire on March 16, 1918. She passed away at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center on Friday December 26, 2008. She was a graduate of Keene High School and attended Boston University. She left school to marry Samuel Newman until his death in 1952. She later married Bob Levin and moved her family to Bennington, VT, where they owned the Jennie Yett Shop , a ladies clothing store until 1962. Later she moved to Albany to work for Herbie Siegel at Cohoes Manufacturing. She dressed the women of the Capital District for 43 years. She clothed all the fancy ladies who attended the Whitney Ball, not to exclude Mary Lou. She leaves her daughters, Nancy Levine ( Dr. Norman), Phyllis Katz ( Dr. Robert) and son, Jeffrey Levin. She also leaves her grandchildren, Lisa Norton (Christopher) Jason Levine ( Nicole), Robyn Adelman, Jessyca Pearlman ( Ian) and Dancya Penick ( Mark) . Services at the Mendleson Chapel on the grounds of the Beth Emeth Cemetery on Turner Lane in Loudonville, NY on Sunday December 28, 2008 at 10:00am. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Dr. Norman and Nancy Levine, 2 Stonehenge Drive in Albany on Sunday following the service of interment with a minyan service being held at the residence at 7:00pm.
