Obituary of Joseph Zippin
SCHENECTADY
ZIPPIN
Joseph Zippin, age 93 of Parkside Avenue in Schenectady, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday evening November 8, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Zippin was born in Albany, NY and later resided in Troy for several years. He had been a Schenectady resident for the last 53 years. Joseph was an Army veteran and served during World War II. He had been a furniture sales manager and had been employed by the former Breslaw Furniture and the Knickerbocker Colonial Shop both in Schenectady. He was a member of Congregation Agudat Achim in Schenectady.
Joseph was married to Shirley Zippin until her passing in July of 2005. Loving father of Martin Zippin and his wife Donna of New Hartford, NY and Maxine Benjamin and her husband Dr. Andrew Benjamin of Mt. Kisco, NY. Brother of Eleanor Goldman of Charlotte, NC and Calvin Zippin of Tiburon, California. Joseph also leaves 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Services at the Agudat Achim Cemetery Schermerhorn Street, Rotterdam, NY on Tuesday November 11, 2008 at 1:00pm. The period of mourning will be observed at the Zippin residence 844 Parkside Avenue in Schenectady on Tuesday through Thursday. Those wishing to remember Joseph in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union Street Schenectady, NY 12309.
