Obituary of Esther Margolius

Slingerlands, New York MARGOLIUS Esther Margolius, age 91 died peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on Wednesday October 15, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Esther was born in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Dora Dickerman. Esther was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Weisburgh and a brother Dr. David Dickerman . Samuel Margolius and Esther were married for 48 years. They worked together for over 30 years in Margo's Beauty Salon Esther is survived by her children, Michael and Linda Margolius and Donna and Michael Gordon and her devoted partner, Bob Hammond. She was a loving Grandma to all her Grandchildren, Debra and Brian Gordon, Karen and Mark Friedman, and Elisa and Brandon Itkowitz. Esther was an adoring Nana to her four great grandchildren, Aaron and Stacy Gordon, and Erica and Brett Friedman. Esther also leaves several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. . The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to Fran Barry, and Zina, Roger, and Dennis Mike for their loving attention to Esther The family would also like to thank Dr. Robert Busch, Barbara Hammond, and all the caring and kind staff at the Community Hospice Inn. Much appreciation to Rabbi Paul Silton, Cantor Rogerio Marx, Rabbi Moshe Bomzer and Rabbi Scott Shpeen for their prayers and support. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Friday October 17, 2008 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, New York. The period of mourning will be observec at the home of Michael and Donna Gordon 509 Sir Charles Way in Guilderland, NY on Saturday and Sunday evenings with a service each of those evenings at 7:30pm.
