Obituary of Hymen Goldberg

SCHENECTADY, NEW YORK GOLDBERG Hymen (Hy) Goldberg, age 95 passed away on October 10, 2008 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home after a long illness. Hy was born in St. Johnsville, NY on March 14, 1913 to the late Harry and Lena Herzog Goldberg. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School and served with the US Army before WW II and in WW II served in the US Navy. Hy worked at Schenectady GE from 1948 to 1955 and was rehired in 1965 and worked until 1976 as a machine operator. Hy was life time member of the Jewish War Veterans Post # 106 in Schenectady. Hy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marion Finkelstein Goldberg and his two sons, Jules M. Goldberg and Steven P. Goldberg of Schenectady, NY. Brother of Sara Talenker formerly of Albany, currently residing in Virginia and Betty Gaies of Troy. He also leaves 2 nieces and a nephew. Services at the upper level Beth Israel Cemetery Chapel, Abbottsford Road in Rotterdam (off Hamburg Street) on Monday October 13, 2008 at 12 noon.
