Obituary of Diane Holly Rosenbaum

Diane Rosenbaum, 59, of Albany passed Tuesday morning, July 1, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. Supported by the love of her friends and family, she unflinching faced a 18 year battle with cancer with grace and good humor. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island by the late Arnold and Marilyn Rosenbaum, she spent the last 29 years in the Capital District. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Albany Law School and the University of Albany School of Social Welfare, she recently retired from her long and meaningful career at Parson's Child and Family Center. Diane was active in the community through Hadassah, the Guilderland Public Library Board, and her synagogue Ohav Shalom. She is survived by her children, Dr. Jessica Weisz and Joshua Weisz both of Washington, DC., a brother, Mark Rosenbaum and his wife Eileen of New Jersey, several nieces and nephews as well as many close friends. Her family thanks all of her physicians and nurses who have help to take care of her, especially this past year. The funeral will be at Congregation Ohav Shalom 113 Krumkill Road in Albany at 4pm on Wednesday July 2. Shiva will be held at her home at 18 Sycamore Drive, Albany, NY on Wednesday and Thursday evening at 7:30pm. Interment will follow services in the Ohav Shalom Cemetery in Guilderland, NY In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to To Life! of Delmar, New York, Parson's Child and Family Center of Albany, NY or the charity of your choice.
