Obituary of Sally C. Beskin
Sally Cohen Beskin, age 94 of Troy, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Sally was born in Brooklyn and was raised in Troy, where she had lived for most of her life. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Adam Ross Cut Stone in Albany, later employed in the same capacity at The Good Samaritan Lutheran Home. She was longtime member of the Beth Tephilah Synagogue in Troy where she was a former board member and served as treasurer. Sally was active in the Waterford Seniors where she enjoyed weekly bingo and poker games.
She is survived by her brother, Philip Cohen (Eileen)of East Greenbush , NY and a daughter in law, Sandra Beskin of Troy. Sally was the loving grandmother of Abra (Roland) Bentley and Marissa Beskin (fiance Jake
Rugino). Cherished great grandmother of Gabriel and Sofia Bentley. Sally also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was married to Louis Beskin until his passing and was also pre-deceased by her son,Barry Beskin. In addition, Sally was pre-deceased by her two brothers Robert Cowan, Albert M. Cohen and a sister, Bessie Collins.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany, NY on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 1:00pm . Interment will follow in the family plot at Beth Tephilah Cemetery in Troy. Those wishing to remember Sally in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Beth Tephilah Synagogue 82 River St. Troy, NY or the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205. The period of mourning will be observed at the Beskin residence, 77 Mt.Pleasant Avenue in Troy on Wednesday and Thursday evenings,
