Obituary of Leita A. Marinstein

Leita A. Marinstein, age 79 of Niskayuna, NY, formerly of Troy died on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Albany Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Leita was the daughter of the late Edward and Edythe Adeson. She was a graduate of Troy High School and Syracuse University. Leita was an educator and taught math at the Schenendehowa School System. She was later associated with the family law firm, Marinstein & Marinstein in Troy where she was a bookkeeper.Leita was a long time active member of Temple Beth El in Troy where she was a member and past president of its sisterhood. She also served on the cemetery committee of the Temple. Leita enjoyed tennis and was a member of the Troy Tennis Association and also enjoyed attending the Saratoga Performing Arts Center and traveling.. She will be remembered by her family as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Elliott F. Marinstein. She was the loving mother of Edward R. and Robyn Marinstein of Slingerlands, NY and Jay and Rhea Marinstein of Pittsburgh, Pa. Sister of Harvey Adeson and his wife Ellen of Troy. Cherished grandmother of David, Jessica, Jenna and Ross Marinstein. Services at Temple Beth El, 411 Hoosick Street in Troy, NY on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 11:30am. Interment will follow in the Beth El Cemetery, Belle Avenue in Troy, NY. Those wishing to remember Leita in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Temple Beth El or a charity of one's choice. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Ed and Robyn Marinstein, 23 Staffords Crossing, Slingerlands, NY on Sunday following the service of interment and on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm.
