Obituary of Helen Anne Bloom
Helen Rosen Bloom, age 97 of Marlborough, Massachusetts died on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the New Horizons at Marlborough Assisted Living in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Helen was born in NYC and resided for many years in Franklin Square, Long Island where she and her late husband Alex, were the owners and operators of Franklin Fabric until their retirement. Following retirement, she resided in Glenmont, NY for twenty years before moving to Marlborough. She was a former member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany and was a member and past president of the Red Hat Club. Helen enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and painting. She was also an avid reader.
Helen was married to Alex Bloom until his passing in 2000. She is the loving Mother of Deborah (Robert) Cole of Hopkinton, Massachusetts and Gail Bloom of Mineola, New York. She was the cherished grandmother of Dana Cole. Helen was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Mirsky.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY at 1:30pm. Those wishing to remember Helen in a special way may make a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.
