Obituary of Roslyn Faust

ROSLYN DAVIDA GREENFIELD FAUST Roslyn Davida Greenfield Faust died Dec. 3 at Eddy Village Green Nursing Facility. Born in Brooklyn in 1921, she graduated from Hunter College, and moved to Albany after her marriage to Martin Faust. She taught in the Albany schools for many years and was a well respected and loved first grade teacher at School 19. After retirement, she remained active in the community, tutoring Chinese students at SUNYA, and organizing the Albany Area Retired Teachers Association. She assisted in the organization of the Humanities Institute for Lifelong Learning in Bethlehem. She participated in the Brandeis Book Study Group for over 20 years. In 2006, she was honored with the Capital District Lifetime Achievement Award. She loved opera, music, theater, travel and literary and political discussions. She is survived by her daughter Irene Faust, son-in-law Brian Keighron, granddaughter Melina, and brother Irving Greenfield. She was predeceased by her husband Martin, sisters Gertrude Wagner and Shirley Martens. She will be greatly missed. Services at the Mendleson Chapel, located on the grounds of the Beth Emeth Cemetery, Loudonville, NY on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11:00 am.
