Obituary of Ruby S. Gold
Ruby Gold, age 83 of Loudonville, New York, died on November 23, 2013, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Her three children Tod, Donna, and Richard, held her hands and said prayers for her as she left this world in peace and with dignity. Her husband Harvey was with her every wonderful day of their 62-year marriage. Jim and Pat were happy they joined her family.
She grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Ruby played the accordion on radio and TV and at USO shows. She lived in the Albany area for over 56 years. She was a dedicated and resourceful volunteer at the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a devoted congregant at Temple Beth Emeth.
Ruby was a wonderful homemaker who transitioned to a second career as an accomplished photographer, winning many awards in local and national competitions. She loved taking photos of fruit, flowers, family, and fireworks. Her newsletters for the Schenectady Photographic Society also won national awards. Her favorite career, however, was as loving grandmother to Julie and Jacob and to her niece Tracy's children Emily and Ian.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Temple Beth Emeth at noon on Wednesday, November 27. Those wishing to honor Ruby may make a donation to the American Cancer Society, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or Temple Beth Emeth.
