Obituary of Lynn L. Silverman
Lynn ( Levor) Silverman, age 91, formerly of New Britain and Southington, Ct. died on Wednesday November 5, 2013. Born in Nuremberg, Germany, daughter of the late Else and Heinz Lavor. She immigrated to the United States in 1938. Lynn was a long time member of former Congregation, B'nai Israel, New Britain, Ct and a devoted member of New Britain Chapter of Hadassah. Lynn had been employed as an interior decorator for Sears and Roebuck, retiring in 1989. She was an avid traveler and loved gardening, art, music and cooking for her family. She did volunteer work for several civic and religious organizations. In 1990, Lynn was the recipient of the New Britain Chapter of Hadassah Hand of Healing Award. Lynn was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Morton. She is survived by her son, John Silverman and wife Mary Ann of New Britain, her daughter, Jan Silverman- Pollow and her husband Gary of Slingerlands, New York. Grandmother of Gabriel and Lauren Pollow and Michael and Jason Silverman, Great grandmother of Emma, Ella and Mia Silverman.
A graveside service will be held at the Beth Alom Cemetery, 48 Allen Street, New Britain, Ct on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 1:00pm .Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah, New Britain Chapter or the New Britain Museum of American Art, 56 Lexington Street, New Britain, Ct, 06052.Following the service of interment gathering will be held at The Whinstone Tavern, 245 Hartford Road, New Britain, Ct.
