Although we haven't see Steven or Susan lately, we did pass through during our child raising years in Niskayuna. We remember Steve's humor and personality and, being in the healthcare field with him, his work in lobbying for improved health care legislation. Our condolences to Susan and your children on this loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn.

I knew Steve through the New York State Association of Health Care Providers where Steve was the lobbyist. He taught me to speak to legislators and bring our story of the importance of home care to the health care system. He encouraged and cajoled us into speaking a mixture of facts and personal stories. I always appreciated his tenacious spirit and most importantly, his dedication. I am so sorry for the family's loss.
As they say, may his memory be a blessing!

The Capone famlly Frank Barbara and Sarah wishes to extend its condolences to Steve's family. We enjoyed being neighbors for years but we were more than neighbors..we were friends. I spent many evenings with Steve in our deck "birdhouse" talking politics and watching television...occasionally having a cocktail. We have many great memories of sharing vacations and enjoying their hospitality at their cottage.
Many great memories.

My condolences to Steve's family, particularly his children. Steve was a dedicated public servant, a great lobbyist, an accomplished athlete, and a good friend. As someone who worked with him in the Senate and played with him on the softball field, I can attest to his intelligence, dedication and good sportsmanship. I will always have fond memories of Steve. He was a real mensch.

So sad to hear of the passing of my colleague and friend, Steve Weingarten. We worked together for many years and in many different capacities, including his years of service as Counsel to the Division of Government Affairs of the Medical Society of the State of New York. Steve was highly intelligent and was instrumental in passing (or defeating) legislation that affected in major ways the federal and NYS health care systems. Even more important, Steve was warm and kind and funny. We are all diminished by his loss. I will miss him very much. Sincerely, Gerry Conway

Working with Steven for many years, on the Clean Indoor Act, among other things, was a great experience. Steve was dedicated, smart, funny and savvy. He had a real feel for getting things done, and not just tilting at windmills. A sad, fond farewell.
