Such childhood memories of a wonderful man. Every Fall my father would take me to Myers for my new Mighty Mac jacket and Easter outfit. Ted always greeted us warmly and , much like his father, knew his business and his customers as people rather than numbers. A fine man.

Mr. Vinick provided me with my first job when I was a junior in high school. I was brand new to the world of retail clothing sales, but I learned lots under Mr. V's tutelage. I still remember his montra....... Show it: Sell it. Hide it: Keep it! Mr. Vinick employed me as a part-time employee for three years, into my college years.
My college schedule dictated that I had to work evenings, but Myer's closed at 5:30. Hence, the necessity of changing jobs.
That first job at Myer's Children's Shop led to my second foray into selling clothes-- that being the Boston Store at Mohawk Mall. In short order I fell in love with a fellow sales associate who is now my wife of 40 years!
So you see, I owe a large part of my success in life to Mr. Vinick, whose three year part time job led me to a best friend who happens to be my wife of 40 years!
Thank you Mr. Vinick. I am forever in your debt.

I recall Mr. Vinick as a most kind man. Back in 1970 he took a chance on an 18 year old boy and gave him a job in Myer's Boys and Men shop. There I worked and learned more than I could have ever imagined about the clothing trade. After earning enough money to start college Mr. Vinick kept me on as a part time employee so that I could continue to fund my education. I recall managing to offend a customer when I asked that she restrain he young son from repeated slamming a mirrored door. Her complaint led to Mr. Vinick calling me into his office to explain. Upon hearing my explanation, he thanked me for doing the right thing and looking after his and the boy's best interest. I also recall his having a great love for the city of Schenectady and the "downtown" business district. A fine man. I have often had fond memories of my experiences at Myers and some have even become sermon illustrations over the years. God bless him. - The Rev. Dr. Terrence O'Neill

Ted has been a friend for many years through our association with Union College Alumni events, The Towne Diner Saturday breakfast group, a neighbor at Van Antwerp Village, as well as the Niaskayuna Senior Center, Always a gentleman, sympathetic friend, sharer of stories, and one of the best persons I have ever known. Godspeed Ted and thanks for the memories. The photo is from 2015 when Ted was enjoying the company of Natasha at the Niskayuna Seniors. Liam Condon (Union 1961)

We remember Ted AND Raquel as two mainstays of our temple. They worked tirelessly
to bring the black and Jewish communities together, holding Passover seders that
involved both communities. Both always reached out to new members of the temple,
and we were recipients of that warmth from your parents ages ago. We were inspired
to see Ted, as he aged, still exhibit the same smile, warmth and hugs that he gave
when he was years younger. He was truly a person to be emulated -- as was your
mom. They are now joined --and may they both rest in peace. Our community was
richer because they both walked this way.

Teddy was a a wonderful man and he will be sorely missed. Ted and Raquel were good friends with my parents, Jason and Alice Tepper. Ted was super smart, amazingly caring, and a dedicated friend. After our father and Raquel passed away, Ted and mom still kept in touch with each other...They shared laughs, conversation and friendship. They provided each other with a mutual support system.
Over the years, the Tepper family was blessed to have lots of friends. I consider Ted to one of the best ever...la creme de la creme. Rest in peace, Ted. And say hi to my parents. I hope the foursome continues in the next dimension.....
Love, Susan Eve Tepper LeClair

Ted was an amazing man, who a full and blessed life surrounded by people who cared very much about him and Ted responded with a zest for life and a great enjoyment a spending time with temple friends, Union college hockey friends and his various drivers who looked forward to spending time with Ted visiting the bank and the coop and other places on Ted's list. Having a conversation about Union college and the hockey team and current events were great fun with Ted as he live each day to the fullest. Seeing him come through the entrance on his frequent trips at the co-op was like seeing Norm on Cheers. Everyone knew Ted and everyone welcome him has he worked his way around the store and his many admirers. A true gentleman and he will be missed
