Obituary of Samuel Meyer Poskanzer
Samuel Meyer Poskanzer ,91 of the Massry Residence in Albany died on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Sam was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident.
He was an electrical engineer for New York State and was retired. He was a member of Temple Israel in Albany as well as a member of the Albany Jewish War Veterans Post #105 where he served as Past Commander. Sam was a United States Marine Corp Veteran.
Survivors include his wife. Ruth Ainspan Poskanzer, a daughter, Marcia Anouchi ( Yoel) of Israel and son Mark Poskanzer ( Caryn) of Slingerlands, NY Grandfather of Avi Anouchi( Mori), Ariella Ganz ( Baruch), Eitan Anouchi ,( Michal) Elihu Anouchi ( Lani), Jared Poskanzer ( Lauren), Adam Poskanzer ( Holly) , Noah and Dayna Poskanzer. He also leaves 10 great grandchildren. Sam was predeceased by sisters,Charlotte Lawson and Esther Carden

Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel 649 Washington Avenue in Albany on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at 1:00pm Interment will be in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, New York. Those wishing to remember Sam in a special way may make a memorial donation to the Hebrew Academy of the Capital District, 100 Academy Road, Suite 100, Albany, NY 12208 or the Jewish National Fund, 42 East 69th Street, New York, NY 10021. The following is the information for the Shiva period. On Wednesday from 4-9pm with a Maariv Service at 7:30pm at 10 Erie Drive in Slingerlands, Thursday from 1-3 pm at the Massry Residence, 182 Washington Avenue Extension, Apt 209 in Albany, Thursday from 7-9pm with a Maariv Service at 7:30pm at 10 Erie Drive in Slingerlands, Friday from 12pm to 3 pm at 10 Erie Drive in Slingerlands and on Saturday from 7:30-9:30 pm at 10 Erie Drive in Slingerlands as well. On Sunday from 2pm to 5 pm and 7-9pm, with a Maariv Service at 7:30pm at 10 Erie Drive in Slingerlands and again on Monday from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm with a Maariv Service at 7:30pm
