Obituary of Lenore Heller
Lenore Kramer Heller, 85, passed away suddenly on Friday, 04Oct2019 at Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Florida. Lenore was born, raised and educated in Brooklyn, NY. She married Harvey Heller in 1955, moved briefly to Charlestown, WV, and then settled in Troy, NY where she lived with her husband and two daughters for over 40 years. She was active in Temple Beth El Sisterhood and Hadassah and the Troy Jewish Community Center. She appeared in local musicals that were written, produced and directed by her husband Harvey, including “The House on 21st Street” and “The Singles Thing”. She loved going to CeDaCa Lake in Grafton, NY, visiting Cape Cod every summer with friends and family, and traveling to places in North America and Europe with her husband each year. She thrived in her job as librarian in the Sycaway Branch of the Troy Public Library, where she was able to share her love of books with people of all ages. Upon her husband’s death, she moved to Delray Beach, FL where she enjoyed playing mahjong, traveling the world, and visiting daily with her many friends at her condo association pool. She became very involved in the Papanicolaou Corps for Cancer Research, Inc. and served as president for her local south Florida chapter of this organization from 2008-2010. She remained an active member of Temple Beth El in Troy, NY, and she was also a member of Temple Anshei Shalom in Delray Beach, FL. She is survived by daughter, Leslie Hughes and her pre-deceased husband, Edward; daughter Robin Heller-Harrison and her husband Scott; her sister, Karyn Ehrlich, and husband Alan; a brother, Jeffrey Kramer, and wife Shelly; grandchild Rane Harrison and his wife Jamie; grandchild Casey Harrison and her partner Daniel; grandchild Devin Hughes; a loving aunt, many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A burial service will be held at Temple Beth El Cemetery, 51 Belle Avenue, Troy, NY, at noon on Friday, October 11th. Charitable contributions can be made to thepapcorps.org.
