Batya-
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I don't have your address so I couldn't send this to you in the mail. I know that my parents greatly cherished the friendship that they enjoyed for many, many years. I can only hope that your memories give you some solace in this most difficult time.

Hello-I walked with Cynthia (nee:Smith) from the main Bldg. to the annex (One block south ,both on Western Ave)when we both attended Albany Hi School during the 1940ies and attended various classes there .. .That walk founded a friendship that was never deep, but always cheerful and a happy time in a HALYCION ERA OF FELLOW STUDENT camaraderie..Later ,after , we were long graduated from AHS (class of 1947 ) about 18 YEARS later ,in 1965 I became reacquainted with her , when I bought the The Crestwood Pharmacy on Whitehall Rd.and Picotte Dr.(Cynthia lived off Whitehall Rd.) It was always pleasant to meet and greet one another and her late brother Arthur became a " regular " at Crestwood Pharmacy on her recommendation to him ..I just turned 90 years old and our generation is fast becoming "THE PASSING PARADE" BUT oh, what what wonderful participants are in this parade. My wife Sabina and I send sincere condolences to the family..

Cynthia was a dear friend of my mother's and I've continued visiting her. OnTuesday she played her piano for me that had just arrived to her apartment and I coaxed her to practice daily and next visit it could be her recital! Her sweetness and smile will be missed. May she be embraced by the God who breathed life into her.
