The passing of Mr. Sternfeld brought much sadness to our family. My son Shane graduated with honors from his criminal justice class. When Shane graduated the academy and became a federal police officer in Washington DC, it was an honor to send Mr Sternfeld a letter and a picture of my son proudly wearing his uniform. No words were more true, than to tell Mr. Sternfeld he truly was a teacher that made a difference. He also went above and beyond to instil confidence, integraty, compassion and faith. We will always have a deep appreciation for Mr Sternfeld. Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to the family, and hope they find a little comfort in knowing he truly was a remarkable person.

Mr Bob Sternfeld was one of the best teachers I ever had. He was my Criminal Justice teacher at BOCES. He was always patient, engaging and simply a good man.
He was a strong influence for me to continue that Criminal Justice path and I am the one he references in his obituary as working out of Washington, D.C. and he deserves plenty of credit for his encouragement. He will be very deeply missed.

You were the father I always wished I'd had. Thank you for taking me in as your "adaptive" daughter. You always had good advice and support when I needed it the most. Thank you for always being proud of me and helping me succeed. You always believed in me even when I wasn't sure of myself. I don't know if I could have made it through this life without you. You told me you will always be with me and I can talk to you anytime I need you. I know this will always be true. I love you and miss you so much already. Oh, Bob, you will be sorely missed by all who love you. We had some great times at BOCES SAEC. You were a great teacher and loved by your students, as you loved them.
In reading your self-written obituary, I am amazed at all the things you've done in your short life. Wish I had about your musical talents and picked your brain regarding the adventures of your earlier years.
I enjoyed taking part in the "who done it", part of your curriculum. We did have fun in our own little corner of the school.

What an amazing obituary, written by an amazing man !! Bob Sternfied , you will always be fondly remembered and loved !! You and Linda had the hearts of Marcie and I for the many years we knew you! Your wit and humor and loving personality will be so missed . We didn’t see you often but ALWAYS left you with a smile. Linda , there are NO WORDS! What a tremendous loss for all that knew him. This is so hard and I don’t know if this will come out right. Bobby we just recently reconnected when we said goodbye to Ernie. And this has come to soon for you. Mary and I were looking forward to seeing you and Linda at your place. We will be there to say our goodbyes tomorrow. We will be there letting Linda and your family know how much you are loved, and how much you will be missed. We’re getting the band back together. I just learned of Bob’s passing & can only say wonderful tales about Bob who we know is laughing his way up to meet his maker. Will they let him in? No problem. Bob can charm his way to meet anyone. He certainly charmed his way into my heart. Unfortunately, I cannot get to NY tomorrow because I live in California. I miss you guys when I moved to CA but Linda come here anytime. You & Bob are always in my Heart even though it’s broken. I will donate to the Heart Association because my father & all his brothers passed from heart problems. I loved you Bob & love you Linda. The Best Friends & Neighbor’s ever! My deepest sympathy to Rebecca & Jordon & every person who knew Bob. Bob touched many people’s lives & I certainly was one. Rest peacefully dear sweet Bob!
