Len and I both worked at Keeler. Len was always one of my biggest supporters, the first person I would turn to for advice, and he always had my back! We were a close knit bunch more than ten years ago and we had a great time! Greg G., Heather R., Bill K., Steve D., Ken H., Nancy M., Art D., Jeff M., Kenny B., and everyone else at Keeler were my family. We were together on 9/11 and we watched in horror as our lives would never be the same. Len was one of the classiest, smartest, kindest, and most generous people I have ever known. He will be greatly missed !

Dear Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I met Mr Schwartz while working at the reception at Shaker Vet. He would always sneak in with his little pup Mei-Mei, just smiling and waiting patiently until we called for the Daycare staff to take Mei-Mei to go play. I will always remember his great love for this little dog and his happy, gentle heart. He was always a ray of sunshine for me any morning he came in. I will miss him and my prayers are with you all.

My most sincere condolences and sympathy to all of you. Lenny was such a lovely person to know. I just spoke with him at Keeler Motors a few weeks ago so this was surely shocking. Again so sorry for your loss. May time be healing for your grief and that happy memories remain in your thoughts. Sincerely Alice Cheren

I was probably in Grade school & my sister a teenager. We were in Albany in a department store and we were ready to leave but my sister was no where to be found. My Uncle had a solution....he went up to the courtesy desk and reported my sister missing. The clerk went on the sound system and asked that "Sheila please report immediately to the front desk". Boy was she embarrassed!
My wedding was held in a hotel and many of the guests had rooms to stay the night. The hallway was full of my friends & family. Before the wedding my Uncle filled a large container with ice & was going through the halls & in & out of rooms throwing ice cubes saying....In this family we throw ICE NOT RICE!!!
I am sure I will have more.

I am devastated. My Uncle had been a huge part of my life growing up. Going to Albany was always looked upon by me as a fun vacation. We shared SO many fun times and I always felt cared about and loved. There were the very difficult times too....when my Aunt was sick and then ultimately died...but I was left a special gift. Not only did I still have my Uncle Lenny but I also had two cousins, Sue & Leslie. I will cherish the great times and remember my Uncle's love forever. Sue, Leslie & Michael....hold tight to the great memories. He is what fills your heart. Michael pass those memories on to Piper....that is what life & family are all about.

Len entered my life over 50 years ago as the future husband of my beloved aunt, Ruthanne, now deceased. The two of them spoiled me rotten and took me lots of places. As I shivered in terror, Uncle Lenny carried me through the fun house at Playland, Rye, NY. That was just the beginning of so many memories. Clearly, Len's mark is very visible in the hearts and souls of my two cousins, Sue and Leslie, and their brother, Michael. My deepest condolences to all of you and be comforted in knowing that there are many of us who have many fond memories of your Dad.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Schwartz, as he was first known to me in 1977 when I was 11 years old. I was a classroom friend of Leslie, and he greeted me by placing a rubber hand on my shoulder while he approached me from behind, and we all laughed as I screeched in fright. This memory still brings a smile to my face. I would see Mr. Schwartz frequently over the years until my college years. He always had a way to make you not only smile, but laugh with his humor and wit. Thankfully, his daughter Leslie inherited his wit at a young age. I saw Mr. Schwartz again after many years in 2003 when my husband and I moved back to the area and were in need of a car. I was delighted that we reunited again by chance! My husband too still remembers that afternoon, Len's wit, charm and all around positive, energetic self. About a year later Len helped us procure another vehicle, assisting both myself and his friend, but not himself. Len was also generous. Thank you Len for the warmth you showed to all who knew you. Thank you Len for the smiles, the giggles, the chortles and most importantly, the love you shared.

Having had the distinct pleasure of working with Len for the past five years, I can truly say that he put a smile on my face every day with his silly humor, and unselfish kindness. He wore shoes that can never be filled. May you find peace in your cherished memories.
