I adored Dr. Pasternack and Dr. Mereu, pediatricians extraordinaires to my children, Jonathan and Addie. They both went out of their way to care for them. They provided me with articles to read. During one terrible bout of a stomach virus that was sending kids to the hospital, Dr. Pasternack made a home visit to make sure that Jonathan was okay. They even took care of my adult friends and their children when their own pediatricians couldn't provide appointments immediately. Conversations were at the highest level. Questions were answered patiently. Humor was always interjected.
Nothing is more important to a parent than the health of her/his child. I am forever grateful to Dr. Pasternack and Dr. Mereu. My sincere condolences to his family.

Dr. Pasternack was our family pediatrician from 1980 until he retired. He was a wonderful, caring and intelligent man as well as a great doctor, especially when we needed help at a critical time for my son.
My three children still mention him and know they were privileged to have him as their doctor. Our condolences on his passing.

I had the privilege of working for this gentleman for 10 years. I am thankful to have had the privilege of also calling him a friend. I hope that he and "Scamp" are enjoying their reunion @ the Rainbow Bridge. My prayers, thoughts and love to his wife Lois and his family and friends.

I'm saddened to hear the news of Dr. Pasternack's passing. Our family was literally reminiscing about him during dinner several days ago. We talked about Scamp. We also discussed what a brilliant doctor he was. If he told you something you could take it to the bank. We forever will hold him in the highest regard with very fond memories. Our condolences to his family at this very difficult time.

Lois,
I'm so saddened to hear of Dr. P's passing. He was an amazing pediatrician, co-worker and friend. I think of him often and have very fond memories of him. I hope he knew what kind of impact he had on parents and their children for so many. His first priority were the babies and kids... not the parents and that was truly amazing. He told you what you needed to hear and not necessarily what you wanted to hear. I'm truly blessed to have known him.

Lois, Sam and Jon,
My sincere condolences with the loss of such a great neighbor and friend, Jon. We were blessed to have you all as our neighbors on Blockhouse Creek Court for many years. They were good years. Jon always offered help or assistance in any situation and was a great source of knowledge with any challenge or topic. Jon always talked to our children, and made them feel welcome in your home. I am sure Jon will be missed but not forgotten.
All the best,
Tony Paratore

Dear Lois,
I am so sorry to hear of your great loss. You and Jon, Sam and Jon, were such wonderful neighbors to us for so many years in Guilderland. My three sons fondly recall sledding on "Lois and Jon's hill," those yummy "Lois's cookies" and sharing the lighting of the candles at your home. We hold you in our thoughts and prayers and always in those happy memories. Love you so much, Coleen (Paratore)

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Jonathan Pasternack. He was the Pediatrician for both of my sons at the practice he shared with Dr. Tullio Mereu.
When my second son, Patrick John VanValkenburg was born on March 21, 1980 in the office of Dr. John Lang in the same building, Dr. Pasternack was there to exam him right after his birth. Patrick was the first baby born in that office and his middle name of John is partly in honor of Dr. Pasternack, along with my father and the doctor who delivered him. Dr. Pasternack was a great pediatrician.

A life well lived. Dr. Pasternack provided excellent care for my four children and also managed to find time to care about my health as well. A great doctor and a wonderful person. He will clearly be missed.

My condolences to the friends and family of Dr. Pasternack. I am forever grateful to have grown up in his care. I will never forget his demeanor and uncanny ability to calm and almost magically cure a sick child. The last I saw him was in the summer of 1992 when at 18 years old it was time to move on to an adult doctor. On that day he helped me with a staff infection near my left eye. Unfortunately that was the last time I had seen him. As a combat veteran and Army aviator, I am proud to share the legacy of military service with him. Rest easy old friend.
