Sanford I Roth posted a condolence

Dear Harriet and family:
This past weekend Carole and I were out of town and I did not learn of my Friend Gardners passing till I caught up on my newspapers on line this past Sunday evening. In fact I didn't even know he was in the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. Over the past years the only time I talked with Gardner was at Jewish Funerals that were arranged by Levine.
I always considered Gardner a Friend even when I worked in the deli. We had a great many fun times with each other and with Dick Spreer and Bob Cerrone. The greatest times were our trips to Atlantic City for health conferences for financial people. Gardner fit right in despite not being a health care financial person. We played golf, ate well, drank well and had many, many, many laughs. Those three days, and the many times that Dick, myself and Gardner closed the deli (the bar) is what I will remember about Gardner.
I know how much he will be missed by you, your children and myself. He was a husband, father, grandfather and for me a Friend.
Please except my most sincere condolence to you and your family.
Sincerely, Sanford "Sandy" Roth

Dear Harriet and the entire family,
We are so saddened. Gardner was the strongest thread of the family. We loved the time we got to spend with him and our Uncle Harold to learn family history and reminisce from those happy visits with my parents Michel & Estelle. One indelible memory Gardner gave me was on my first visit to Albany and seeing my name in neon lights on the Lerner Delicatessen. In my mind Gardner must have been a famous superstar. Turns out he was!
Thank you, Gardner, for showing how to be an honorable, upstanding, loving man.

To the Family, so sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that Gardner has the prospect of being resurrected, healthy (in the flesh), to Paradise Earth just as Jehovah God has promised. In fact , the vast majority will enjoy everlasting life right here on earth as God had intended from the beginning. God's Kingdom will do this under the rule of Jesus Christ. So many great memories of this beautiful, mischievous, happy, giving and loving soul. In the 19 years that I have known Gardner, I loved holidays at Bryan and Jill’s, seeing him at camp and anytime we were lucky enough to be with him. I loved his stories and the way he was happy to show you the proper way to carve a piece of meat. He always had a joke or some words of advice. I wish him peace now and will have a smile on my face whenever I think of him. To his family I send my sympathy, but, please know how much you were loved by this precious man. Think of his great life and all the happy memories he has left for you.
