Obituary of Richard B. Silverman
Mr. Richard B Silverman, born on February 9, 1943, in Schenectady, New York, to the late Jeannette Sheinzeit and the late Leonard Silverman, passed away at age 75 on November 3, 2018. He graduated from Linton High School in 1962. He was with the New York State Tax Department until retiring in 2002. Richard was the beloved husband of Christine Kupiac Silverman. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Frances Scheinzeit and Sonya Silverman; and grandfathers, Samuel M. Scheinzeit and Morris Silverman. Richard is survived by his brothers, Arnold Silverman and Robert Silverman; sister, Marlo Klorfein; nieces, Stacy Silverman Crane, Shana M Silverman, Sarah B Silverman, Jenna Klorfein and Jessica Silverman Laughlin; and nephews, Scott Silverman, Tyler H Silverman, Jason Klorfein, Jarred Klorfein, Andrew Silverman and TJ Silverman. Richard loved travel and spending time with the people he loved. He was a member of Temple Gates of Heaven and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He participated in the activities of the Temple singers and the Temple Thespians. He will be remembered for his beautiful singing voice and his kind spirit. Friends and family can pay their respects at the memorial service, officiated by Rabbi Matt Cutler, on Tuesday, November 6 at 1 p.m. at Temple Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Avenue.
