Obituary of Doris Joan Silverston

Doris Joan Silverston of Peabody, Massachusetts died on October 27, 2018 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts. Born in Albany on February 6, 1930, Doris was the daughter of the late Marcus and Anne Goldstein Myers. She was a graduate of SUNY Albany and had been employed as a school teacher in Niskayuna, Schenectady as well as at Congregation Gates of Heaven in Schenectady. Doris was a life member of Hadassah, a member of the sisterhood at Congregation Gates of Heaven, the Alumni Association at SUNY Albany, NYSTA, and PAP Corp.
Doris is survived by her husband, Marvin R. Silverston , and 2 daughters, Terri Oliver ( Walter), and Karen Morse ( Paul) Grandmother of Lauren ( Robert), Michael ( Rebecca), Samantha, Cory ( Simon), Melaina and Megan. Doris also leaves 6 great grandchildren.
Services at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Avenue Schenectady on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Schenectady. The period of mourning will be observed in Massachusetts. Those wishing to remember Doris in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Alzheimer’s or Congregation Gates of Heaven.
