Obituary of Leonard Kasnett

Monsey, New York

Leonard Kasnett, age 95 of Monsey, NY died on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Ramapo, NY. Born in Washington, DC, Leonard was a Navy Veteran and served during World War II. He was a Niskayuna resident for many years and was a former member of Congregation Gates of Heaven.  Mr. Kasnett was an accomplished self-taught artist. His children and grandchildren proudly have many of his works in their homes.  He will be remembered by his family as a gentle and kind man.

Mr. Kasnett was married to Phyllis Elling Kasnett until her passing in 2015.

Survivors include a son, Rabbi Pinchas Kasnett (Sharon) and a daughter Janet Manuta ( Louis) . He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren

Services at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Watt Street Schenectady on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
