Albany – Barbara Plesser
Barbara Plesser, age 92, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 with her family by her side. Barbara was the daughter of the late Jacob and Ethel Price, and sister of the late Bernard Price. She was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School, and Albany Business College, she went on to have a career as a secretary at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs
Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook, and entertain. She loved to tell stories, she had the power to galvanize the room to pass on her tales of times past.
She will be remembered for her fierce dedication to her family, and unwavering support of her beloved late husband, Daniel. She was a true matriarch, putting her family before all else. Instilling the lessons and traditions into the generations that would follow her.
She was the most beloved wife of the late Daniel Plesser. She is survived by her children, Martin (Eloise), Dawn (David), Emily Hudgins (Cliff) and Justin Storr. Beloved grandmother of, Devon Plesser, Erica Plesser Thomas Plesser, Monya Plesser, Kerri Plesser, Jed Plesser Matthew Hopper, Michael Hopper, Melissa Hopper, Amanda Perrault (Cory) and Cody Richless.
Great grandmother to Harper, Ziara, Jayda, Noah, Isaiah, Shayne, Madison, Zoey, Matthew, Austin, Aiden, William, Maxwell, Christian, Gabriel, and Levi Perrault.
Dedicated to the Plesser Family, she was the sister-in-law of Samuel Plesser, Reva Tavelman (William), the late Louis Plesser (Marilyn), and late Hyman Plesser.
Beloved Aunt of Hillary Lubin, and Nadine DePierre and their families. She also had many other nieces and nephews that she adored, and countless friends, she was a grandmother to all.
She was predeceased by her son David Plesser.
Barbara will continue to act as a northern star guiding her family through this next chapter. The number of lives she has touched are truly immeasurable. However, the mark that she made, and the lessons she has left behind, will carry-on for generations to come.
Services will be held 3:00pm Tuesday July 17, 2018 at Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. Albany. Interment will follow in Temple Israel Cemetery, Guilderland. In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to The Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Rd.Albany, NY 12205 or to Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Ave. Albany, NY 12208.
The family will be observing Shiva at the Plesser home, 25 Link St. Albany 12208 after the service of interment Tuesday until 8:00pm, and Wednesday 12:00 to 3:00pm and 4:00 to 6:00pm.
