Obituary of Ilene Sherie Goldman

Ilene Sherie Goldman, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Born on August 7, 1935 in Denver, Colorado she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Klempner. She met and married Gerald Goldman in 1955 and moved to Binghamton, New York. She spent her career working at the Hub Delicatessen and as a bookkeeper for Goldman Commissary Services. She served on many committees and volunteered for many organizations including Beth David Synagogue, Hillel Academy and the Binghamton JCC. She enjoyed bowling, mah-jongg, knitting and water exercise.  She was a huge fan of her beloved Knicks, the Syracuse Orange, and the NY Giants.

Ilene is survived by her children Lori (Todd) Stuart, Shelly (Johnny) Goldman Black, and Craig (Andra) Goldman; 5 beloved grandchildren Michael, Deena and Seth Goldman, Jasmine and Jason Black. 

She was pre-deceased by her sisters Sophia Weinreich and Florence “Cookie” Abraham and leaves behind her beloved nieces Marsha Deuel and Cherrie Rau, Jody and Lynn Abraham.

Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel. 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Beth Abraham Jacob Cemetery in Guilderland, NY Shiva will be held in Albany on Wednesday following the interment and visitors are welcome at the home of Shelly and Johnny Black, 59 Royal Blvd. Delmar, NY 12054 until 8:30pm  Visitors are also welcome Thursday, Sunday and Monday from 1:00- 4:00pm and again from 6:30pm to 8:30pm  and on Friday from 1:00 to 4:00pm Shiva will also be held in West Orange, New Jersey at the Goldman residence, 52 Conforti Avenue on Thursday through Tuesday morning.
