Obituary of Gertrude R. Hecker

     Ms.  Gertrude R. Hecker, age 97,    passed away at her residence in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Friday, June 8th,  2018.
   The youngest of five children, she was born in Warsaw, Poland.   She immigrated with her family to New York City at age 2.
     She attended the Brooklyn school system, where she graduated from high school.  She then completed courses in stenography and secretarial skills.
    She was married to the late Leonard Paul Hecker.   They raised their three sons in Union, NJ.   Gert worked variously as a real estate broker, an administrative assistant for B'nai Brith, and a legal secretary.
     She is survived by her sons Robert (Linda) Hecker, of Guilford, Vt., Marc (Phyllis) Hecker of Albany, NY,  and Gary Hecker of Beverly Hills, Calif.  Gert is also survived by three grandchildren, Anna (Timothy) Schumacher,  Jenna (Jack) Pitera, Melanie Hecker, and two great-grandchildren.
  

 A period of mourning will be observed on Monday, June 18, 2018, with services at 7 p.m. at the residence of Marc and Phyllis Hecker, 64 Delafield Dr., Albany, NY.  Memorial donations can be made to Congregation Ohav Shalom, 113 New Krumkill Rd., Albany, NY,  12208, or any preferred charity.
