Obituary of Mary Wohl
Mary Strasman Wohl, age 85 of the Assisted Living Facility at the Loudonville Home for Adults died Monday morning at her residence. Mary was born in Jessup, Pennsylvania and had resided for 60 years in Amsterdam, NY. She was an educator for many years and taught business at the Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam, NY. She was an active member of Congregation Sons of Israel in Amsterdam, NY where she served as their past treasurer and was also a member of their sisterhood as well as an associate member of Temple Israel in Albany. Mary was a life member of Hadassah. She also enjoyed playing mahjong and volunteering her time at St Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY. Mary will be long remembered for her devotion to her late husband Irving and to her family and friends. She will also be remembered for her dry sense of humor.
Mary was the devoted wife to Irving Wohl for 50 years until his passing in 2000. She is the loving Mother of Helene Cuomo ( John) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ellen Schwartz ( Eric) of Albany, NY. Sister of Betty Jones, Sally Friedman and Lee Pachter (Arthur). She was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Michael
(Helene) Cuomo and Joshua and Aaron Schwartz. She was also the proud great grandmother of Fiona Bailey Cuomo.
Services at Congregation Sons of Israel 33 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam, NY on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 3:00pm. Interment will follow in the Sons of Israel Cemetery in Cranesville, NY

The period of mourning will be observed at the Schwartz residence, 216 Euclid Avenue in Albany on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings commencing at 7:30pm.
