Obituary of Ephraim Peretz
Ephraim Peretz, 90, longtime resident of Albany, NY passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 after a long illness. Eph was born and raised in Queens, NY. He received his PhD in Psychology from the University of Michigan (1957) and dedicated his long career to helping those with mental health challenges, starting at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany, then in private practice in Latham, NY and then finally from his home office in Albany, NY. Eph was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and a lifetime lover of music and learning. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Brown Peretz (2016), his mother, Shirley Peretz (1984), his father, Abraham David Peretz (1960), and brother Bertram Peretz (2000). He is survived by his son, David Peretz of WA, his three stepchildren, Robert (Jackie) Stone of Pleasantville, NY; Michael (Dana) Stone of Oxford, MI; and Deborah Stone of Atlanta, GA; and three adored grandsons, Jeremy (age 18), Owen (age 15), and Dylan (age 12) Stone.
