Obituary of William Wagenheim

 

 

William Wagenheim, age 88  died peacefully at his residence at the Beverwcyk in Slingerlands, NY on Sunday, May 6, 2018

William ("Bill") Wagenheim was born April 7, 1930 in Newark NJ. He is the son of the late Nathan Wagenheim and Bess Bornfeld Wagenheim. His only brother,  Allan J. Wagenheim of Sun Lakes Arizona died earlier this year. 

 

Bill served proudly in the Army and is a Korean War Vet. Upon returning from his service, he married his childhood sweetheart, Shirley Ehrenkranz. Bill and Shirley were 10 and 12 years old respectively when they first became best friends and lifelong soul mates. They married in 1953 at Ann Gordon's in Newark NJ. 

Bill was extremely proud of his career as a business owner of a TV sales, parts and service company , Parts Unlimited in downtown Newark. He was beloved of the business community and remembered fondly by all who worked for him. 

Bill has resided  in Newark, Marlboro NJ, Glenmont and Slingerlands. 

 

He was proudest of his happy 64 years of marriage to Shirley, his two children Dr. Susan Rosenberg of Delmar, NY and Diane Adele Wagenheim (deceased) and his two grandsons, Gregory Weiss and Matthew Weiss. 

 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley, his daughter Dr. Susan Rosenberg, son-in-law Michael Rosenberg, and his two grandsons Gregory Nathan Weiss and Matthew Neil Weiss. 

 

Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel , 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Tuesday May 8  at 1pm followed by interment in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Delmar, NY where military honors will be held . Shiva will be held a the home of Dr. Susan Rosenberg, 15 Oakwood Place in Delmar, NY on Tuesday, Wednesday  and Thursday beginning  at 4pm with a shiva service at 7pm

The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Dr. Susan Rosenberg 15 Oakwood Place Delmar, NY on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday commencing at 4pm with a shiva service at 7pm

Military Honors

There will be military honors for Mr. Wagenheim at Bethlehem Cemetery at approx. 2:30pm on Tuesday
