Obituary of Rakhil Gerchikova

Rakhil Gerchikova - ALBANY

Rakhil Gerchikova, 85, passed away on May 3, 2018 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born in Osipovichi, Belorussia on January 4, 1933. She graduated from a Medical School in the former Soviet Union and worked as a pediatrician in Moscow, Russia for over 30 years. She moved to the United State in 1992 and lived in Albany in B’Nai B’rith Parkview Apartments for over 20 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and going to the Albany JCC swimming pool.

She was predeceased by her brother Gennadiy Gelfer of Troy, NY. She is survived by her sister Minna (Alex) of Netanya, Israel; son Jacob (Eugenia) of Slingerlands, NY and grandchildren Larry and Sophie.

services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. Albany on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM followed by interment in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland.
