Obituary of Joyce A. Greenberg
Joyce Ann Greenberg, age 67, died at home on April 8, 2018. She succumbed to the cancer that she valiantly fought for over four years.
Joyce received a BS is History from Brooklyn College and a MA in History from the University of Illinois. There she met her future husband Ron and they have been married for over 44 years.
Joyce was a Child Welfare Social Worker before the birth of her daughter Melissa and after that, besides parenting, she was very active in volunteering for many worthwhile causes. In many of the volunteering roles, her personality and leadership skills led to positions of higher responsibility within the organization. Examples include:
President of both the Central Berkshire MA and Southwestern IN League of Woman Voters as well as State Board member of the Massachusetts League of Woman Voters.
Co-Chair of the committee to bring the Anne Frank exhibit to the Evansville IN museum.
Member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Family Health Council and Board member of Planned Parenthood of Southwest IN.
Volunteer coordinator at a battered woman’s shelter in Evansville IN.
President of the Sand Lake Center for the Arts for 9 years.

Survivors include her husband, Ron; daughter, Melissa; son, David and sister Laura. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Sylvia.
A Memorial Service followed by a remembrance with refreshments will be held on April 11 at 11AM at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts, 2880 NY Highway 43, Averill Park, NY. Relatives and friends are welcome to pay their respects at the family home between 4pm and 8pm on Monday, Tues and Wed.
