Obituary of Ina Lee Shapiro

Ina Lee Abrams Shapiro, age 73 of Slingerlands, NY died on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.  Ina was born in Brooklyn, NY and was a graduate of Sheepshead Bay High School. She later met the “love of her life”, Robert A. Shapiro and they married on her 20th birthday. Ina enjoyed her annual fall vacations with Robert at the White Mountains of New Hampshire where they shared many wonderful memories.  

Ina and Robert shared 53 wonderful years of marriage.  Survivors also include her sister, Florence (Peter) Chiodo of Brooklyn, NY as well as 2 nephews and several cousins.

Services at the Graceland Cemetery on Delaware Avenue in Albany on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 11:00am. Those wishing to remember Ina in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, 800 Cherokee Avenue, SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30315.
