Merill,
Thank you very much for helping out the restaurant and giving us advice. It was awesome that you named the hot dog cart after me. I will miss you.

Merill,
We had known you for only a relatively short time but during which had fallen deeply in love with you. We simply can't yet imagine an Allie B's without you. You became part of the family, our regulars still ask for you and the neighborhood will NEVER forget you. "Troy? Troy what? Merill is from Clinton Avenue." :) With a hint of foreshadowing, you tried to teach us as many lessons as possible every time you came by. We will always appreciate and love you. Thank you for letting us in.

Marion and children,
Reading messages on the Internet, I just now learned of Merill's recent death. Please
accept my condolences on your loss. At various times Merill and I crossed paths during
my years in Troy, and he was a person for whom I had a great deal of respect. His quiet
yet serious demeanor left an indelible impression in my mind and memory. In particular
I remember coming to Troy for a funeral after I had retired and moved away, and a situation
caused by wintry weather conditions left me without use of my car; I happened to spot
Merill, who had not known of the death, and he told me that in the evening he would give
me a ride to the home of the bereaved family --which he did, even on that cold, snowy night.
May his memory be a blessing to all of you.
Sadly,
(Rabbi) Aryeh Wineman

Marion and family,
I want to share our deepest sympathies and warm thoughts during your sorrowful time of loss.
Though i didnt have a close personal relationship with Merrill, I did cherish our relationship as
a thoughtful and reflective uncle. I feel deeply connected to him and your family.
My very best,
Tom Liberty
