Jim-I offer to you and your daughters my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Cyndi. She was extraordinary in every way. During our time in the Capitol and the years after I greatly admired her for her intellect, her joy and wit. In the turmoil that often prevailed in the Capitol she was unique in her ability to bring people together in a calming manner. Her love of life was so evident. The last time my wife and I spoke with Cyndi was not long before your daughter’s wedding. Even by Cyndi’s standards her excitement and joyousness was pure exuberance. Cyndi was a force of nature and will be dearly missed. Take care old friend.

My sympathies go out to Cindy's family. I came to know Cindy from my years as an employee with the NYS Senate. Cindy was an exceptional and tireless advocate for her clients. I was impressed with her abilities to move effortlessly through the halls of the State capital to make her case for her clients and to be friendly to someone like me. Cindy also helped my wife out once when my wife was having a difficult employment situation at an area hospital, which I was very appreciative of.
It was my pleasure to know Cindy and may she rest in peace.

The Board, Leadership, Staff, Children, and Families of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children mourn the loss of Cindy Shenker and offer our heartfelt condolence to her family, friends, and colleagues. Cindy was a true champion for New York’s sickest kids. Many of our accomplishments and innovations over the last 15 years would not have been possible without Cindy’s indefatigable spirit. Thousands of children and their families are better off because Cindy fought to get them the best care and services possible.
Her spirit will live on in all the children whose lives she impacted, in ways she never knew.
The entire St. Mary’s family will miss her.

A shining light has been lost to the world. Cindy was always a "let's find the best in everyone and everything" kind of person. May we all strive to be so generous in our spirit and our actions.

A wonderful colleague, mentor and friend. Her caring manner towards this young Assembly staffer, her laughter and sense of humor, her smarts and political acumen will always live in my memory and the hundreds of others who were proud to have known her. All my love.
