Obituary of Rosalyn Coleman
Coleman, Rosalyn ( W. Aronowitz)
Rosalyn W. Coleman passed away at her home on Friday morning, March 23, 2018 after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Albany, Roz was the daughter of the late Anna and Edward Weinberg. She graduated from Milne High School. Rosalyn attended Ithaca College where she was a member of the Adelphi Honorary Society prior to transferring to Syracuse University from where she graduated with a degree in Art.History
Roz was employed at the NYS Legislature, but the majority of her life was devoted to raising and spending time with her family. She was a patron of the arts who enjoyed attending theatrical/ musical performances, lectures and art galleries. Roz also took great pleasure in painting, antiquing, shopping, and playing golf and bridge with friends.
Roz was predeceased by her husband, Erwin E. Coleman, and her sisters, Marjorie Lubin and Shirley Sheber. Survivors include: her children Lynn Aronowitz, Mark ( Lisa) Aronowitz and Mary Ann Cooper; her grandchildren Sam and Sofia Aronowitz and Sara and Hannah Cooper; several nieces and nephews; as well as her loving partner of 11 years, Jason Rice.
Services will be held at Congregation Beth Emeth, 100 Academy Rd., Albany on
Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 2:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Beth Emeth Cemetery. Friends are invited to the home of Lisa and Mark Aronowitz to observe the period of mourning at 8 Fox Run in Latham, NY immediately following the interment and on Monday from 7-9pm.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to honor Roz’s memory may make a contribution to the Alzheimer Association Northeastern NY Chapter, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205; St. Peter’s Hospital Regional ALS Center, 310 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208; or a charity of their choice.
