Obituary of Polina Khaitova
Polina Tabak Khaitova, age 88, of Albany, died on Friday, March 9, 2018 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in the Ukraine, Polina came to the United States on February 28, 1990. She attended services at Temple Israel in Albany, enjoyed playing the guitar and was known for her cooking. Polina was the family matriarch and will be remembered by her family for her love of life, her kindness to people, and devotion to her family.
Polina was married to the love of her life and the only man she ever dated, Mikhail Khaitov for 60 years until his passing in April of 2011.
She was the loving mother of Grigory Khaitov of Albany and Kira Spiro of Slingerlands. She also leaves her cherished brothers, Yakov Tabak of Toronto and Naum Tabak of Clifton Park, as well as a sister, Inna Dumskaya of Albany. She was the cherished grandmother of five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Polina also leaves to mourn members of the Khaitov, Spiro, Kaplunovsky, Kasparov, Tabak, Dumskaya, Ivashina, Schulman and Brown families. Polina was predeceased by a son, Boris Khaitov and her brothers, Arkady Tabak and Yevgenniy Tabak.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. Albany on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 12:00 Noon. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Monday commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the services in Temple Israel Cemetery, Guilderland, NY.Friends and relatives are invited to a reception at the Italian Community Center on Washington Avenue Extension in Albany following the interment commencing at 2:30pm- 4:00pm. The period of mourning will be observed at the home of Joel and Kira Spiro,16 Devonshire Drive in Delmar, NY on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday from 7-9pm
