Obituary of Lenore W. Heisman
Lenore Wolinsky Heisman, born December 26, 1929, passed away on Thursday morning, July 11, 2013. Born in Albany, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Freida and Harry Wolinsky of Albany, NY. Beloved wife of 63 of Bertram C. Heisman. Mother of Michael A. Heisman ( Yolanda) of San Jose, California, Lewis J. Heisman ( Christine) of Fairport, NY, Stephanie J. Murtagh ( Thomas) of Clifton Park, NY and Nancy R. Heisman of Greenville, South Carolina. Sister of Fredrik (Corinne) Wolinsky of Commack, NY. Loving grandmother of Rebecca (Joseph) Zelazny, Laura, Sarah, Jack (Lisa), Nicole, Estee, Bryan and Troy Heisman, David and Eric Murtagh and Stefan and Ryan Leichenauer. Cherished great grandmother of Clementine Early Zelazny.
Lenore was a Senior Personnel Administrator in the Manpower and Employee Relations Division in the main office of the New York State Dept. of Transportation for 27 years retiring in 1987. She was a Past President of United Order of True Sisters Abigail # 3, Past President of Hadassah and also called bingo at Temple Israel in Albany for many years. Lenore and Bert spent their winters in Las Vegas, Nevada for many years because she loved the humidity free weather and the occasional visits to the casinos to play her favorite slot machines.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Independent Benevolent Cemetery, Fuller Road Guilderland, NY. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Lenore in a special way may make a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice. The period of mourning will be observed at the Heisman residence, 1700 Western Avenue, Building 1, Apt 104 in Guilderland, NY on Monday following the service of interment and on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-7pm.
