I just thought of Dr. Novak in the past week or so. I would not be alive if it were not for the great care he gave me during my acute pancretatic attack. He was such a wonderful caring doctor. He supervised my hospital care and watched me like a mother hawk in the following years. I know you had some happy years, but not enough. The second year can seem worse, but it does eventually get better. My thoughts and prayers are with you as his wife and his children.

I was refered to Dr. Novak by the country doctor who took care of my family in Central Bridge many years ago. Because of increasing heart problems, I was sent to this bright young doctor. I was one of Dr. Novak's first patients and we often talked about that. As soon as I met him I sensed that he was very intelligent and very serious about caring for his patients. Through the years he always took good care of my health, sending me to specialists when necessary. Eventually his wife, Judy, came to work in the office. She was a very courageous woman who endured her own health issues with a strong will. There was one thing that I was concerned about with the doctor. In those early years he was a smoker and I was worried about his health, but he overcame that bad habit and continued to practice with vigor and diligence. I am so sorry that "Dr. Mike" who took such good care of himself (after he stopped smoking) was taken at such a relatively young age. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of his family on this loss. When one loses someone they love the emotional pain is very intense and it takes a long time to heal that pain. In time it may lessen, but that person and the memories that are part of your lives together will always be with you.

Dear Agatha Ann and Family, I was a patient of Dr. Novak. You may have heard him talk about his patient with acute pancreatitis. I almost died around 9/11. He visited me everyday while we waited for the pancrease to stop eating itself for 2 weeks. I was home 2 weeks and when I called and said I had a slight temp. he ordered me to the hospital immediately. My body cavity was infected. He was with me everyday after surgery overseeing every doctor who attended to me. I really feel he was the reason I lived. He also helped my husband when he developed colon cancer and was instrumental in getting him immediate care. He died after a year and a half in 7/7/07 just around the time Judy was so sick. We had a deep understanding together. I met you Agatha before your marriage just after Dr. Novak's back surgery. I am so happy to hear he had 3 wonderful years with you. You and he were blest to have that time together. He was a wonderful, very caring man. I will never forget the understanding he gave me and the concern for my health. Sincerely, Maria Greskovich. (I have remarried just this past year)

We send sincere condolences to Dr. Novak's family. Dr. Novak, for many years while Judy was still alive and active in his office, our parents were both patients of his. My father's very rare kidney and autoimmune disease was diagnosed by him, and followed by him. We owe him a great deal! We are so sorry for your loss. It was encouraging to see him carry on after Judy died, and to continue to enjoy his running. May he rest in peace!

Michael P Novak was my doctor and friend for 24 years. He was simply the BEST. Brilliant, detailed, warm, funny, direct, concerned, kind and extraordinary. Dr. Novak took the time to really listen to and talk with his patients. He could have easily sped things up...but that was not his style. You had his keen attention for a VISIT with your doctor...not an appointment. He was interested in you, your family and anything that might affect your health. His devotion to Judy, pride in his children, grandchildren; and his joy in later life with Agatha was shared regularly. He loved life and his patients; and they loved him back. My respects and condolences to his family and friends. I will cherish our conversations and miss him very much. The Lord must need an outstanding doctor and person for a special task. God bless you and your family, Dr. Novak. Suzanne Lenss

It is so hard to put into words what Mike has meant to us both as a doctor and as a friend. If it wasn't for Mike and his talents as a doctor neither Stew nor I would be here today. Please know that your family has been blessed as we have.

Dr. Novak was my personal physician for over 25years until the time of his retirement. Dr. Novak was an outstanding physician who truly cared about his patients and would spend whatever time was necessary. I have missed him not being my doctor for the past few years and I will always remember his kind and compassionate ways, his outstanding skills as a physician and greatness as a human being. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Novak's family.

May heartfelt sympathies go out to Dr. Mike's family. I will always be grateful to him for teaching me to be proactive in my own healthcare. I have yet to find another physician who comes close to the wonderful physician, and teacher, he was.

Mike, I will truly miss you. In the few years I have been privileged to know you, you mentored me in medicine, in how to be a good friend and how to be a mensch. I was so lucky to have experienced your kindness, support and caring friendship. You gave so many the blessing of greater health drawing upon your uncommon intellectual ability, your dedication and compassion. Your departure was so sudden and I know that so many are sorry to not have had the opportunity to say "goodbye." I thank God I was privileged to enjoying being your student, your friend and one of your biggest fans. May all your loved ones be comforted by the knowledge that you were an exceptionally loving father, grandfather and husband. I cannot believe you were taken so suddenly. When we spoke a couple of days ago, you were laughing as we finished our conversation. You told me when you were finished reading the book you were currently engrossed by about Lincoln, you would lend it to me. From the day I met you , you were always sharing the good things in life and for that I am grateful. Ben
