Its with sadness that I learned just this evening of Lou's passing. He was a long-time friend of Nahum's and mine and he will be remembered for his warmth, a wry smile, and and his sense of humor. He contributed a great deal to the community at large and will be missed. I send my love and wishes to you and Elizabeth that you will find comfort in wonderful memories.

Dear Mona - It is with sadness that we learned of the Lou's passing just a few days ago. He was a distinguished alumnus of the State University at Albany. His extraordinary career as an educator and his leadership as President of the College of the Atlantic reflected the breadth of his notable accomplishments. It was my good fortune to meet him during some of his reunions at Albany, particularly those of Kappa Beta, and some conversations we had over the years. He was seen in higher education as an innovator and champion of academic standards and of providing educational opportunities to all who sought a college education. He will be sorely missed by those of us who knew him and by those who benefited from his leadership in higher education.
