Obituary of Robert Gandler
Robert Gandler, age 75 of the Massry Residence on Washington Avenue Extension in Albany died suddenly on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his residence. Born in Albany, Robert was a lifelong resident. He had been employed for many years as an auto mechanic at the former Wendell Cadillac in Albany and was later employed by New York State.
He was a member of Albany City Lodge # 540 Knights of Pythias in Albany and the Albany Hebrew Tailors Association.
Robert is survived by his devoted companion, Diane Koenig of Albany and cousins, Martin Perlmutter, David Weinstock, Allen Gandler, Bernard Gandler, Elaine Ikler, Joseph, Richard and Paul Herd and Rita Gooen. He was predeceased by his parents, Morris and Lillian.
Services at the Hebrew Tailors Cemetery, Western Avenue, Guilderland, NY on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 2:00pm. Those wishing to remember Robert in a special way may make a memorial contribution to the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, 180 Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, NY 12203.
