Obituary of Yocheved Weisenblum
Yocheved Weisenblum, 98, former resident of Peekskill and most recently the Ohav Shalom Apartments in Albany, passed away at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center on November 20. She was the dear wife of the late Zalman, and the beloved mother of Sara Klein of Wappingers Falls and Yaffa (Michael) Katz of Selkirk. Also surviving are her dear grandchildren: Mark (Jessica) Katz, and Stephanie (Michael) Ward who lovingly called her "Savta," and Beth (John) Wagner, Jeremy Bilgre, Gabrielle and Silvia Klein who lovingly called her "Nanny." She was also great grandmother to Nathaniel and Darryl. She and her husband emigrated to Israel before the outbreak of World War II where she was a teacher for many years. They came to the U.S. in 1969, and she was proud to become an American citizen in 1978. She retired from the Peekskill Community Hospital in 1983. She will forever be remembered as a very kind, gentle and loving person who always looked forward to her family's special occasions.

Services and interment will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:30am at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings on Hudson, NY

The period of mourning will be observed at the Katz residence, 14 Belmont Court Selkirk, NY commencing on Tuesday evening and continuing through Sunday. There will be a service at the Katz residence on Tuesday evening November 22nd at 7pm and on Wednesday at 4:15pm
