Obituary of Claire Rose Schafran
Claire Schafran died
early in the morning of March 11, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, & friend to all she met during her 93 years, WW II Veteran Claire Schafran finally escaped the blindness and cancer she suffered for so very long. Her son Jeff, granddaughters Melissa & Jennifer, & daughter-in-law Charisse wish her love and happiness as she journeys to once again be with her husband ("My Marty") who she's missed dearly every day for almost 50 years, her brothers, and her parents. We are eternally grateful for her unconditional love, understanding, and support that has and always will surround us, and for her spirit, that will fill us with joy and happiness whenever we think of our "Nanny."
In accordance with her wishes, no traditional services will be held, however those who wish to honor her can do so by volunteering at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany or any Veterans' facility close to them, and/or approaching and thanking members of the Armed Forces for their service. In addition, donations may be made to "Team Albany Adaptive Sports," c/o Stratton V.A. Medical Center, Mail Code 117, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12208.
