Obituary of Morris Leo Sax

Morris "Mushie" Sax, 90, a lifelong resident of Albany, passed away on Saturday, February 23. He graduated from Albany High School and Siena College and served in the US Army Signal Corps during WWII. Mushie was an avid golfer and an active member of Shaker Ridge Country Club including serving as President of the Board. He was also a member of Temple Israel for over 60 years. After 22 years in sales and sales management Mushie retired from WTEN. Mushie is survived by his dedicated and loving wife Barbara, his two children, Robert (Nina) Sax and Ellen Sax (Patrick Greene) and four grandchildren, Adam and Daniel Sax and Matt and Kyle Greene. He was predeceased by his brothers, N. Irving Sax and Kermit (Cuppy) Sax. He will be remembered by those he loved and those who loved him for his intelligence, warmth, generosity of spirit and sense of fun. Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 2:00pm Interment will follow in the Temple Israel Cemetery in Guilderland, NY The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to those who offered compassionate care and comfort during Mushie's difficult journey, especially Dr. Mark Fruiterman, Blessing Oki and the staff of 3-B wing of the Teresian House. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Mushie in a special way may make a contribution to Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Avenue, Albany NY 12208, The Regional Food Bank of NENY, 965 Albany Shaker Road, Latham NY 12110 or a charity of their choice. The period of mourning will be observed at the Sax residence, 1 Clarendon Road in Albany on Monday following the service of interment and on Tuesday and Wednesday.
