Obituary of Anne Kotzin
Anne Kotzin, age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 7 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany, New York. She was the daughter of Samuel and Ida Okun, the youngest of their eight children. She lived a long and happy life and was loved by everyone who knew her. As a young woman, she worked in Simon's Creamery. It was there that she met Milton Kotzin who would become her husband and lifelong partner for 67 years, until his passing just 4 months ago. She also worked at Neisner Bros. and had many fond memories of her time there. Her best work was as teacher's aide at School 22 in Rochester. She loved the children and teachers and they loved her. For many years Anne was a volunteer at the Jewish Home in Rochester. She loved her time and her friends there and in spite of many health issues, tried her best to be there every chance she could. Anne loved people and always wanted to be where happy things were happening. She was a kind, gentle and loving friend, mother grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children Karen (Alan) Lobel and Marshall (Dori) Kotzin. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Scott (Lauren) Deborah (Nim) and Brian and Gia and Evan Kotzin. She dearly loved her great grandchildren Natalie Lobel and Rami Shafran.
Funeral services will be graveside at Britton Road Cemetery, Rhine Street Section at 1PM Friday, November 9. Shiva will be observed at the home of Karen Lobel in Albany Saturday evening through Wednesday evening. Donations can be made to the Daughters of Sarah Jewish Foundation, 180 Washington Avenue Ext.
