It was a privilege to know Fred for 45 years. He was that rare individual with enormous talents and humility to match. Luisa and I are very sorry for your loss and wish you strength in the time of mourning and remembrance.

Dear Vinick family, Please accept my condolences on the passing of Fred, a wonderfully talented man. I will always treasure sharing the stage with him for a Williams School talent show 20 years ago when we played the two piano, four hand version of Aaron Copland's "Rodeo." After only one afternoon rehearsal together, we performed the piece that evening. I still remember seeing Fred look at me across our interlinked grand pianos and hearing him say, "Oh, s_ _ t, he started!" I guess my nod of the head wasn't quite emphatic enough, but that didn't prevent him from playing with great spirit and flawlessly. He was so much fun to be with! I hope that you will find peace in your hearts in the days to come. With much sympathy, Peter Emanuel

I grew up in awe of Fred, whose family lived around the corner from mine. His talent as a pianist was an inspiration to me in my own lessons--though I never reached his level. Please accept my condolences on his passing. May his memory be a blessing.

To the Venick family, I'm deeply sorry to hear the loss of Fred's passing . Please accept my sincere sympathy.I attended Oneida JHS and Linton HS with Fred. I will always remember our friendship during those years. He always had a smile on his face and very upbeat. I had a lot of respect for Fred over those years and enjoyed our friendship. I think Fred would say; As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you. May God bless, DEL

I am so sorry to learn about Fred passing on. I grew up with Fred and we went to high school together. One of my fondest memories as a youngster growing up was the Saturday nights that he and I went bowling together with his parents. Fred's dad always paid for my bowling and his mom always had cookies and milk for us after school when Fred and I shot baskets. Although we lost touch with one another after high school, I did have the good fortune to see him again at our 40th high school re-union and was so moved to see that he had remained, through the years, the same unassuming and stellar individual I had come to know many years ago. Rest in peace, my friend.

Please except my condolences to the family of Freddie Vinick. I grew up with Freddie when he lived on Waverly Place and I lived on The Plaza in Schenectady. Every day after school we would go over to his house and shoot hoop and play a baseball game he had. I have fond memories of having fun with Freddie when we were kids. I am very sorry for your loss.
