Obituary of Ronald P. Kohn
Ronald P. Kohn, 76, of Albany, died suddenly on Friday, September 21, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong resident of Albany, known to his friends as "Albany Ron" or the "Treas"(urer), Ron was a partner in the accounting firm of Stulmaker, Kohn and Richardson and was recognized by Money Magazine as one of the best tax practitioners in Albany, New York. He was active in
many civic and charitable organizations and was the past treasurer and Board Member of Temple Israel, Jewish Family Services, Bet Shraga Hebrew Academy, 15-Love, the Northeast Chapter of New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the United Jewish Appeal. He was also a past member of the Board of Associate Trustees of Siena College, his alma mater, and was a past President of the Downtown Albany BID.
Beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Ginsburg Kohn; his children, Michael and Jon, both of Albany, Susan, of New Orleans; his daughter-in-law, Roni Kohn; and his grandchildren, Liran, Ariel, Li-or Holtzman (Ari), Avi-ya and Gabriel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was especially devoted to his son, Jon, with whom he spent his weekends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Lillian Kohn, and his brothers, Howard and Robert.
Ron had a great zest for life and loved spending time with his many friends. He was an avid tennis player and was a fixture at Siena basketball games.

Services will be held today, Sunday, September 23, at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave., Albany at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in the Beth Abraham Jacob Cemetery on Western Avenue in Guilderland. Shiva will be held at the Kohn residence, 2 Cheshire Court, Albany, on Sunday and Monday between the hours of 7 and 9 pm.
